【Priority message】Online classes during the State of Emergency Declaration
To all students, staff and members of the University community
You will be aware that the Government declared a third State of Emergency, to take effect from 25 April, in order to control the spread of COVID-19. As a consequence, after reviewing the order, the University will shift to online classes, commencing Friday 30 April 2021 (week four of the first term).

Musashino University resumed face-to-face classes for the Academic Year 2021 (commencing in April), with the view that classes are core to the University experience. In just these three short weeks, we have welcomed the return to classes and with it, a vibrant campus life. The Declaration appeals for a short, concentrated period of controlling the spread of the virus. Given the ongoing spread of the virus and now new mutations as well, as a University, we must also take our social responsibilities seriously. As a consequence, we have made the difficult decision to resume online classes, in order that students can continue to study. Again, we ask for and appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Online classes will resume at the beginning of the fourth week of term, 30 April 2021, and continue while the State of Emergency remains in place. (There may be some exceptions, such as practical classes, but there will be strict protocols in place.) Once the Declaration is lifted, we will notify all students and staff about the decision to resume face-to-face classes.
Some classes may switch to online mode prior to 30 April. Please seek advice from your instructor.

We hope that the spread of this virus will be brought under control and that we can recommence face-to-face classes as soon as possible. It is up to all of us to take responsibility as part of the University community and society at large, especially during this third State of Emergency declaration, to do all we can to help contain COVID-19. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
