Kanakura Collection, Kusunoki Collection and Shoku-no-Bungakukan

Kanakura Collection

This collection consists of 3,163 books in Japanese and 1,701 those in other languages donated by the bereaved family of Dr. Ensho Kanakura (1896-1987), a former professor of Tohoku University. They are mainly on Indian philosophy and Buddhist studies. 41 books in Japanese and 286 books in other languages from the collection are stored in microform.

Kusunoki Collection

This collection consists of materials donated by Dr. Masahiro Kusunoki (1921-2009), a former professor of Musashino Women's University and a professor emeritus of Tohoku University. The collection has 11,731 items; 9,027 books and 1,065 issues of journals in Japanese, 1,611 books and 28 issues of journals in other languages mainly on religious and Buddhist studies.

Syoku no Bungakukan

This collection consists of Japanese literature and essays related to food in 3,500 books which were selected by Dr. Shoji Okochi (1928-2013), a literary critic, a professor emeritus of Musashino University (an editorial board member of "Bunka," a quarterly magazine).
