[Update] Latest Guidelines on the Spread of COVID-19 (For enrolled students and university staff members)
To all students, staff and university community members
With the spread of COVID-19, we ask your cooperation to follow the measures below to prevent the spread of infection.

1. Basic guidelines on the preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19
(1) Avoid the risk of infection of our students and members of the university community
(2) Fulfill our social responsibilities to minimize the spread of infection in metropolitan Tokyo
(3) Endeavour to continue to provide a high standard of education for our students during this time of COVID-19 restrictions

2. Take appropriate and recommended action to avoid getting infected or infecting others
Musashino University’s teaching philosophy is underpinned by the idea of cultivating the human character based on Buddhism and in that spirit we continue to emphasize the importance of human life. While the threat of COVID-19 remains unpredictable, we ask you to please take actions to help avoid getting infected or infecting others at our university.
(1) Please avoid unnecessary outings or visits to crowded places.
(2) Please make it a habit to check your temperature every morning, be aware of any changes in your state of health and refrain from going out if you have a fever or cold symptoms.
(3) Please be sure to wash your hands regularly with soap, disinfect your hands and fingers, wear a face mask when you go outdoors and follow coughing etiquette.
(4) Please pay attention to appropriate social distancing requirements (a distance of two metres or more is recommended).
(5) Please be mindful of ventilation when you are indoors.
(6) Please pay attention to avoid the 3Cs (crowded places, close-contact settings, and closed spaces).

3. Overseas travel
In principle, students and faculty members are prohibited from traveling overseas.
Students and faculty members who are already traveling and have symptoms such as a fever or coughing should first visit a local medical institution. Students should provide the results to the Health Center of their campus, and faculty members should report to the head of their academic department) and the Personnel Division immediately.
International students who have fulfilled the acceptance period of their agreement should follow the instructions given by the International Relations Office.
Students and faculty members who are already traveling and have symptoms such as a fever or coughing should first visit a local medical institution. Students should provide the results to the Health Center of their campus, and faculty members should report to the head of their academic department) and the Personnel Division immediately.

4. Returning to Japan (entering Japan) from overseas
Currently, COVID-19 cases are reported from all around the world. If you have returned from overseas, please monitor any changes in your health for two weeks (record your health condition including coughing, sneezing or other symptoms, and temperature). Please observe your health with considerable care and stay home unless there are unavoidable circumstances.
If you have a fever, cough, or cold symptoms, students should inform the Campus Health Center, and faculty members should inform their department (the head of their department) and the Personnel Division, after consulting with the designated consultation center or a public health center in your area. As a general rule, do not directly visit a medical institution.
In addition, please be sure to follow the below when you return to (enter) Japan.
(1) If you have symptoms such as a fever or coughing when returning to Japan (entering Japan), be sure to declare them to a quarantine officer at the airport. In addition, students should report to the Campus Health Center, and faculty members should report to their department (the head of their department) and the Personnel Division immediately.
(2) With respect to the travel destination, the date of return to Japan or entering Japan, and the state of health at that point in time, students should report to the Campus Health Center, and faculty members should report to their department (the head of their department) and the Personnel Division. The following should be reported: the existence of a fever or coughing, the use of any relevant medications or cough suppressant.
(3) If students or faculty members have symptoms such as a fever or coughing during traveling and visited a medical center, students should inform the Health Center of their campus of the results and faculty members should inform their department (the head of their department) and the Personnel Division of the results.

5. If you are suspecting of having COVID-19

In addition, if you are diagnosed with COVID-19, students should inform the Security Office of Ariake Campus or the Gatehouse of Musashino Campus, and faculty members should inform their department (the head of their department) and the Personnel Division immediately.
