[IMPORTANT NOTICE]Regarding the conduct of classes after the lifting of the State of Emergency

An IMPORTANT MESSAGE for ALL STUDENTS Regarding the conduct of classes after the lifting of the State of Emergency

To all students
You may be aware that the Government has reviewed the current State of Emergency and plans to lift restrictions on Thursday, 30 September.
Once restrictions are lifted, Musashino University plans to resume face-to-face classes on Friday 1 October 2021, mindful of the health and wellbeing of all students, staff and members of the University community while continuing to observe strict measures against COVID-19 infection. We ask you to anticipate a return to campus on Friday 1 October, in line with the following advice.

All courses
  • On Friday 1 October, all classes designated as face-to-face classes will resume on campus*. All guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19 must be strictly observed.
*Classes that switched to online mode at the time of the State of Emergency will revert to face-to-face.
*Classes that were originally designated as online classes will, as a general rule, continue in the online mode. Please confirm the mode as noted in the course syllabus.

  • There will be some instances where the transition to face-to-face classes may take some time. Please confer with the class instructor for details. In consideration of special circumstances, some classes may continue in an online mode until Monday 18 October (third week of third term). You should receive a notification from the course instructor via MUSCAT.

  • Some re-entry restrictions may continue to apply to International Students. Please consult with the International Relations Office for advice regarding your circumstances.

  • Should you have a high temperature or cold-like symptoms, or if you have been in contact with someone who has the virus, please contact staff at the medical stations on campus.

  • If you have medical or related reasons to be concerned about attending face-to-face classes please contact the Student Support Office for advice at either Ariake campus or Musashino campus.

  • Regarding vaccinations, in the event that you are unable to attend class as a result of getting your vaccination (for example, the scheduling conflicts with a class or you develop side-effects which may prevent you from attending class), you may receive special consideration.

The following guidelines will be in place for activities on both campuses from 1 October 2021.
Entry to campus Entry to campus remains subject to the usual guidelines and protocols as outlined previously, including temperature checks at campus entrances. Students are reminded to bring your student card which will be required to record your attendance. Please observe the protocols as outlined previously in the Guidelines
Office hours (administration) From 1 October, office hours will return to usual times (8:45am-5:00pm) however, we recommend you continue to make enquiries by email or phone where possible, as part of ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.
Other matters For information on the use of the library, assistance with careers and other campus activities, please refer to the 「Summary of the responses to COVID=19 (Corona virus)

While the number of cases in Tokyo appears to be decreasing, medical experts are warning of the possibility of a sixth wave of infection as winter approaches, so we must continue to remain vigilant for some time as variants of the virus such as Delta continue to emerge along with so-called ‘breakthrough’ infections among the vaccinated population.
We ask for your ongoing cooperation and understanding of these circumstances and that you observe all the necessary guidelines as we resume classes and campus life.
