Reasons for choosing Musashino University
I wanted to pursue a bachelor degree abroad, especially in Asia, and soon chose Japan as an option. Though it was important for me to study a major in English, the universities offering undergraduate courses in English were quite limited. Besides this, I wanted to study something related to global affairs, hence the field of global business appeared interesting. Therefore, I chose Musashino University. At the same time, Musashino University provides international students with scholarship opportunities, which was also a deciding factor.
Learning and research content
I undertook the Global Business undergraduate degree. It’s a course that focuses on subjects such as Finance, Marketing, and Economics but also languages such as English and Japanese.
Activities other than academic study
Similar to many of my international classmates, apart from studying I would spend most of my spare time engaging in part time jobs. It definitely helped improve my Japanese and social skills. Yet in retrospect I wish I would not have worked as much as I did and enjoyed more time doing other things.
Remembering college life and life in Japan
Life in Japan is definitely a unique experience. The culture is very different to my own, and it helped me to experience and learn new sides of me. I believe that as an international student there are many opportunities. However, at the same time it can be hard to find one’s position within society as there are many social rules and clues one might not understand at first.
Favorite point of Musashino University
What I like about Musashino University is that prior to the pandemic the university would host events such as speech contest, or have gatherings with students visiting from international universities. Events like these, besides the studying part, make my university life an unforgettable experience.
Future dream
I am planning to return to my country after graduation and work for a company, in order to gain more professional experience. As of now, I am not yet 100 % sure about my future career path but, I would love to work in an international environment.
Message to juniors
View the university more than just a diploma, more than a means to perhaps land you a good job. Try to utilize the four years to learn and discover, and don’t be afraid of challenging yourself.
My favorite!

This might sound really boring and average but as long as I am with friends any place in Tokyo is amazing. But if I have to choose one, it would definitely be Shibuya. I would say that Shibuya just always gives me this typical image of “Tokyo” - the busy crossroad, the shops, the colors - It’s an area that somehow never gets boring to me.
